Judith A. Whitney

Judith A. Whitney of Cadillac passed away, Monday morning, August 7, 2017, at her home. She was 72.

Judy was born June 18, 1945 in Cadillac and graduated from Cadillac High School in 1963. She earned her beautician’s license and worked at Countryside Salon for many years. On June 20, 1964 at the United Methodist Church in Cadillac she married Robert J. “Bob” Whitney and he preceded her in passing on September 22, 2016.

She attended Boon Baptist Church. Judy loved flower gardening and her pets. Judy was an avid reader and did cross stitch. She was very organized and completed numerous photo albums organized for each grandchild and by occasion. Judy will be remembered for her ability to put others first, acceptance of others and her giving nature. She was an exceptional cook and held great Sunday meals for her whole family. Her grandchildren remember her famous macaroni and cheese and making sugar cookies.

She is survived by her children: Kelly Whitney (Christopher) Cater of Lowell, Anne Whitney- Monfils, Jason (Molly) Whitney all of Cadillac; grandchildren, Jordan (Kristen) Cater, Mackenzie Cater, Adam (Cori) Monfils, Kaitlyn Monfils, Wyatt and Howie Inzano; siblings, Joyce (Jerry) Cozart of Blytheville, AK, Marvin Sharp of Cadillac; many nieces, nephews and cousins; sisters-in-law, Francis Sharp and Clara Sharp and her constant companion and special dog, Romeo.

In addition to her parents and husband she was preceded in death by siblings: Shirley (Jack) Galvanek, Lloyd (Aleen) Sharp, Junior (Betty) Sharp, Devere Sharp, Kenny Sharp; infant siblings Robert and Stella Sharp and sister-in-law, Sandy Sharp.

Memorial services will be held 11:00 AM Thursday, August 10, 2017 at Peterson Funeral and Cremation Services in Cadillac with Mr. Gary Pullen officiating. Friends may meet the family Wednesday from 5:00-7:00 PM at the Peterson Funeral and Cremation Services in Cadillac. Her final resting place will be Selma Township Cemetery in Wexford County.
