Gerald J. “Jerry” Wallaszek

Gerald J. “Jerry” Wallaszek of Cadillac passed away Friday morning, March 9, 2018 at his home. He was 70 years old.

Jerry was born July 26, 1947 in Wyandotte, Michigan to John F. and Pearl Christine (Sajewicz) Wallaszek and they preceded him in death.

Jerry earned his Associate’s Degree from Henry Ford Community College in Dearborn, Michigan. He worked in the printing business downstate before moving to the Cadillac area where he worked at Home Depot for many years.
He will be fondly remembered for his sense of humor and heart of gold. Jerry was very social and a friend to anyone who he met. He was a wonderful father and grandfather, devoting time to coach his daughter’s softball team when she was younger. He loved being near the water and spent much time boating, fishing and camping. He was a life- long hobby photographer and enjoyed DJ’ing, music and craft beer.

He is survived by his wife, Lynda Wallaszek of Cadillac; daughter, Rory Wallaszek- Peterson (Ron Angelosanto) of Plymouth, Michigan; grandchildren, Sawyer and Quinn Peterson; step-son, Scott Kinzer of Cadillac; niece and nephew, Kyla Wallaszek and Sean Wallaszek and his beloved springer spaniels, Sam and Sadie.

In addition to his parents Jerry was preceded in death by his brother, Tom Wallaszek.
