Elizabeth I. Watson-Whitney

February 11, 1924 - March 31, 2018

Elizabeth I. (Ochs) Watson – Whitney of Cadillac passed away Saturday afternoon, March 31, 2018 at the Curry House Assisted Living in Cadillac. She was 94. She was born on February 11, 1924 in Rose Lake Township of Osceola County to Andrew and Augusta (Bond) Ochs.
On February 3, 1945 in St. Louis, Michigan she married Royden D. Watson and he preceded her in death on December 25, 1972. She later married Gail C. Whitney on October 22, 1976 in Clare, Michigan and he preceded her in death on November 9, 2017.
Elizabeth graduated from Leroy High School and had lived all her life in the Leroy, Tustin and Cadillac area. She enjoyed spending winters in Florida and doing ceramics, crafts and bowling. For many years she was affiliated with Augustana Lutheran Church in Tustin.
Survivors include her children Douglas (Bonnie) Watson of Cadillac, Michigan, Dawn (John) Chupek of Virginia and Derek (Lori) Watson of Beulah, Michigan, David (Nancy) Whitney of Minnesota, Terri (Charles) Settino of Rochester Hills, Michigan; 13 grandchildren and was blessed with many great- grandchildren and great-great grandchildren; 2 sisters: Evelyn Peterson of Cadillac and Marjorie Cook of Detroit. In addition to her parents and husbands she was preceded in death by her siblings: Earl Ochs, Eleanor Enter, Donald Ochs, Minnie Worm, Paul Ochs and Dorothy Pileri.
Funeral services will be held 11:00 AM Tuesday, April 3, 2018 at Peterson Funeral & Cremation Services in Cadillac with Pastor Ron Ruark officiating. Burial will be at Maple Hill Cemetery in Cadillac. Friends may meet the family one hour prior to the services at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to Love, INC.
