"Mr. Homminga is part of some of my most favorite memories from St. Francis High School. He was a wonderful teacher who cared about all his kids, especially those who needed extra care. I loved worked on Kairos retreats with him and the twinkle in his eye only hinted at the deep faith within. My prayers as you mourn and celebrate his life. RIP. Katie Maxbauer McNulty 'SF93"

"Mr. Homminga was a kind soul and loving soul. I graduated from St. Francis in 1996. His greatest gift in my experience was with the tougher kids at school. Or, even simply the kids who were experiencing anger or frustration. I can't imagine a better retreat leader. His gentleness and his obvious faith in Jesus was key for him as a retreat leader. He was the Kairos retreat. I loved Joe Homminga. I am sincerely sorry for your loss. "
