Emma I. Butler

March 23, 1923 - July 01, 2018

Emma I. Butler of Cadillac passed away Sunday afternoon, July 1, 2018 at her home. She was 95.

Mrs. Butler was born March 23, 1923 in Cadillac, Michigan to John and Sophie (Erickson) Peterson. On April 27, 1947 in Cadillac she married Vern Butler and he preceded her in death on January 10, 1995.

She was a member of Zion Lutheran Church in Cadillac and enjoyed going to plays, concerts, garage sales and car rides.

She is survived by her children: Shirley (Bruce) Sewell, Larry (Vickie) Butler, Sue Gill all of Cadillac, Jan (Norm) Warren of Greenfield, Indiana; five grandchildren; seven step grandchildren and many great-grandchildren.

In addition to her parents and husband she was preceded in death by a son Keith Butler in 1951; a step-daughters, Diane Soik and Brenda Platz; brothers: Ernie, John, Carl and Arvid Peterson and a sister, Esther Carpenter.

Funeral services will be held 1:00 PM Friday, July 6, 2018 at the Peterson Funeral and Cremation Services in Cadillac with Reverend Scott Torkko officiating. Friends may meet the family one hour prior to the service at the funeral home. Burial will be at Maple Hill Cemetery in Cadillac.
