Mary Louise (Flint) Emory

Mary Louise (Flint) Emory of Boon passed away Tuesday morning, September 4, 2018 at home with her family by her side. She was 78.

Mary was born June 2, 1940 in Cadillac to Murle and Mary (Wilson) Flint and they preceded her in passing. On February 14, 1995 in Boon, Michigan she married Allen Emory and he preceded her in passing on May 3, 2003.

She worked at Four Star and Rexair; retiring from Rexair after 13 years. Mary loved to crochet and scrapbook. She also enjoyed going to the casino, her flowers and bird watching. Mary loved spending time with her family and family gatherings.

She is survived by her daughters: Becky (Jack) Kanouse of Lake City, Kelly Rees of Cadillac, Kim “Katie” (Dane) O’Brien of Manton and Connie (Jody) VanPelt of Boon; seven grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; many step-grandchildren; step-great-grandchildren; step-great-great-grandchildren; siblings: Robert (Pam) Flint of Newaygo, Marge Hamilton of Cadillac, Marilyn “Kate” (Bud) Miller of Sears; special brother-in-law and friend, Brick Emory of Boon; special friend Toby Eastman of Manton and many nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents and husband she was preceded in death by a son, Dan Rees; a brother, Murle “Murt” Flint; sisters: Loraine Flint, Maxine Flint, Mable (Merlin) Jenema, Millie (Russ) Armstead, Sharon (John) Wetherell; brother-in-law: Clark Hamilton and a sister-in-law, Pat McMahon.

Funeral services will be held 11:00 AM Friday, September 7, 2018 at Peterson Funeral & Cremation Services in Cadillac with Elder David Siddall officiating. Friends may meet the family from 10:00 AM until services at 11:00 AM. Mrs. Emory’s final resting place will be Maple Hill Cemetery in Cadillac.
