Leota Evelyn Myers

November 11, 1925 - December 03, 2018

Leota Evelyn Myers of Birch Run, formerly of Cadillac, passed away Monday evening, December 3, 2018 at her daughter’s home in Birch Run surrounded by family. She was 93.

She was born November 11, 1925 in Comstock Park, Kent County, Michigan to Burel and Dorothy (Lanning) Burke and they preceded her in death. On March 1, 1947 she married Jean Robert Myers and he preceded her in death on June 15, 2015.

Leota graduated from Manton High School in 1943 and attended Spring Arbor University. She was a former member of the Cadillac Church of the Nazarene. While living in Cadillac she was a resident of Harbor View for over 30 years. She took very good care of her family as they grew up and enjoyed cooking and sewing. She loved spending time with her family and also enjoyed shopping and going out to eat with them.


She is survived by her children: Karla (Duane) Woodruff of Birch Run, Marilyn (Bob) Eichorn of Ithaca, Mark (Diane) Myers of Cadillac and Onalee Myers of Birch Run; 11 grandchildren; numerous great-grandchildren; two sisters, Verla McBrian and Mary Alice Garn and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents and husband she was preceded in death by a son, Andrew Myers and a brother, Alton Burke.

Funeral services will be held 11:00 AM Saturday, December 8, 2018 at Peterson Funeral and Cremation Services in Cadillac with Reverend Brandon Metzger officiating. Friends may meet the family one hour prior to the service at the funeral home. Burial will take place at Fairview Cemetery in Manton.

"I loved my aunt Leota, I remember lots of times going up to Harborview to visit and take Mom. She also would get on a city bus and go over to Sunnyside to visit Mom.She will be missed for sure. We will see her some day soon."
