Eleanor A. Strzynski

Eleanor A. Strzynski of Cadillac passed away Wednesday, February 27, 2019 at Munson Healthcare Cadillac Hospital. She was 92.

Eleanor was born December 5, 1926 in Flint, Michigan to Kenneth and Sylvia (Gorschall) Temple and they preceded her in passing. On October 3, 1947 in Detroit, Michigan she married Stanley L. Strzynski and he also preceded her in death on May 7, 1986.

She grew up in the Detroit area and was salutatorian of her high school class. After getting married she moved north to Cadillac and raised her family. Eleanor worked in Detroit at various businesses but reentered the work force in her sixties. She was motivated to learn and enrolled in classes to keep up on technology. Eleanor worked at Cadillac Industrial Supply for over ten years before retiring.

Eleanor was a lifetime member of Emmanuel Lutheran Church in Cadillac and had been involved with the ladies aid there. She enjoyed gardening, crocheting and playing cards. She enjoyed playing cribbage and was a member of a traveling club for several years. Eleanor was also an avid reader. She loved going for walks and participated in walking the Mackinaw Bridge.

She is survived by her children: Stanley (Lois) Strzynski, Jr. of McBain, Marilyn (Carl) Kuhn of Cadillac, Greg (Michelle) Strzynski of Huntington Woods, MI, Corrine (Greg) Toupin of Boon and David (Brenda) Strzynski of Boon; ten grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren and a brother, Kenneth (Norma) Temple of Tustin.

In addition to her parents and husband she was preceded in death by a daughter, Janice O’Riley in 2006 and a sister, Caroline (Martin) Wagner.

Funeral services will be held 11:00 AM, Thursday, March 7, 2019 at Emmanuel Lutheran Church in Cadillac with Rev. John Bookshaw officiating. Friends may meet the family Wednesday from 5:00 to 7:00 PM at Peterson Funeral and Cremation Services. Burial will take place at Maple Hill Cemetery in Cadillac.
