Joan K. Duncan

January 04, 1947 - February 22, 2019

Joan K. Duncan of Boon passed away Friday, February 22, 2019 at Munson Medical Center in Traverse City. She was 72. Joan was born on January 4, 1947 in Kalamazoo, Michigan to Wilbur & Carrie Viola (Larson) Daniels and they preceded her in death. On June 28, 1969 in Lake City, Michigan she married Lloyde James Duncan and he preceded her in death on December 26, 2018.

Joan graduated from High School and attended college for a short time. Mrs. Duncan had been employed at Goss Canvas, Safety Mate and retired from Four Winns after over 20 years of service there. She was a member of the Cadillac Seventh day Adventist Church. She loved her flowers and enjoyed her pets including dogs, goats and horses as well as spending time outdoors, camping and fishing.

Survivors include her children: John (Tania) Duncan of California, Lloyde (Kimberly) Duncan, Jr. of Manton and Jeff (Pam) Duncan of Grand Rapids; 10 grandchildren: Linda Duncan, William Duncan, Shannon Duncan, Ashley (Brandon) Kooze, Adrie (Travis) Fowler, Jade Dodde, Jeff Hendrix, Destiney Duncan, Brandon Duncan, Lilly Duncan; four great-grandchildren; a brother, David (Judy) Daniels of Oregon; 2 sisters: Doris (Jerry) Speer of Tennessee and Barbara Zeeryp of Illinois; and many nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents and husband she was preceded in death by a brother, Al Daniels.

Memorial services will be held 11:00 AM Friday, March 15, 2019 at the Lake City Seventh Day Adventist Church with Pastor Pat Milligan officiating. Friends may meet the family prior to the service at church.
