Erin E. Joynt

October 24, 1985 - March 11, 2019

Erin E. Joynt of McBain passed away, Monday, March 11, 2019 at her home surrounded by her family. She was 33.

Erin was born October 24, 1985 in Aurora, Illinois to Dave and Patricia (Hennen) Voirin.

She was born and raised in Aurora, Illinois. Erin attended Northern Michigan University in Marquette, Michigan where she met her future husband, Adam. They moved to the Cadillac/ McBain area to work and raise their family. Erin worked as a nurse part time at Spectrum Health Reed City Hospital while also working at Munson Healthcare Cadillac Hospital full time. The majority of Erin’s nursing career was spent in the Intensive Care Unit.

Erin loved nursing; she was always more concerned about others and how they were doing than herself, even in the hardest of news Erin never let cancer define her. She rightfully earned the nickname, “Warrior” from her family. Above all, Erin’s faith and family were the utmost of importance to her. She was proud to be an example of faith and trusted in Jesus. She was extremely close to her family and talked to her sisters daily. Erin lived for her girls; waking up everyday to be the best mom she could for them. She enjoyed family vacations and hiking in the Upper Peninsula and was a fierce Scrabble competitor.

On June 9, 2007 in Cadillac, Michigan she married Adam G. Joynt and he survives her along with their daughters, Adelina Rose and Anna Elisabeth all of McBain; her father, Dave Voirin of Aurora, Illinois; her mother, Patricia (Mike) Montminy of Sugar Grove, Illinois; siblings: Danielle Voirin, Emily Voirin, Stephanie (Jim) Leo, Hanna Voirin; grandfather, Nick Hennen, Many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews; father-in-law, Michael Joynt of Big Rapids; mother-in-law, Wendy Blackmer of Cadillac; in-laws, Emily (Andrew) Straw and Ben Denzel.

Memorial services will be held 11:00 AM, Saturday, March 23, 2019 at Temple Hill Baptist Church in Cadillac with Reverend Jack Miller officiating. Friends may meet the family Friday, March 22, 2019 from 5:00 to 8:00 at the Peterson Funeral and Cremation Services in Cadillac. Her final resting place will be Maple Hill Cemetery in Cadillac.

In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to Adelina and Anna’s college fund that has been established at 5/3 Bank in Cadillac or to the Hope Lodge in Grand Rapids. An online guestbook is available at
