August 28, 1938 - March 28, 2019
Fredrick H. Hatt of Cadillac died Thursday morning, March 28, 2019 at his home. He was 80. He was born on August 28, 1938 in Clinton Township, Oscoda County, Michigan to Abel L. & Polly M. (Snyder) Hatt and they preceded him in death.
Mr. Hatt attended school in Merritt, Michigan and after working on a local farm he entered the United States Army and served during the Korean War. After returning home from his service to our country he began his career as a heavy equipment operator for O.A.K. Construction and retired after many years of service there. Fred enjoyed dancing, wood working and was a handy mechanic and was always ready and willing to help others out.
Survivors include his children: Cindy (John) Balk of Dorr, Michigan and Ken (Jane) Hatt of Lake City; 12 grandchildren; 17 great grandchildren and 6 brothers and sisters: Betty, Theresa, Delores, Jessie, Abel “Leonard” and Michael. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by a daughter, Julie Wheeler and 9 siblings.
Memorial services will be held 1:00 PM Saturday, March 30, 2019 at Peterson Funeral & Cremation Services with Chaplain Walter Ross officiating and full military rites under the auspices of the Cadillac Area Honor Guard.
