Carl T Rozeveld

Carl T Rozeveld of Lake City passed away suddenly, Thursday, October 31, 2024 at Munson Healthcare Cadillac Hospital. He was 55. Carl was born May 19, 1969 in Cadillac to John and Millie (Heuker) Rozeveld. He graduated from Northern Michigan Christian School in 1987. From there Carl went on to graduate from Ferris State University. Carl began his 37 year long career at Jay K. Thiebaut PC while still in high school. Carl was a loyal and dedicated licensed CPA with Jay. Over the course of Carl’s lifetime he loved to use the gift of his singing voice to praise the Lord. He enjoyed singing with his brothers and sister, Sally in quartet music and with family around the piano before hunting season. He was a member at Rehoboth Reformed Church where he was also a member of the praise team. Carl was passionate about the outdoors. He loved hunting, spending time in the woods, tilling the soil and taking his boat fishing in his free time. Even though Carl loved nature he loved being a Papa more. He was quietly and fiercely loyal to those he loved. On July 22, 1989 he married Debra S. De Young and she survives him along with their children, Courtney Rozeveld of Clearwater, Florida and Joshua Rozeveld of Lake City; granddaughter, MaKenna; his parents, John and Millie Rozeveld of McBain; siblings: Barb (Mike) VanderHeide of Midland, Marcia Smith, Gordon (Tina) Rozeveld, Jack (Dawn) Rozeveld, Bill (Judy) Rozeveld all of McBain, Sally (Al) Westmaas of Marion, and Joe (Carrie) Rozeveld of McBain; in-laws: Bernie and Kathy De Young, Laurie De Young all of Hudsonville, Brenda (Ken) Dryfhout of Wheaton, IL and many, many nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins. He was preceded in death by his brother-in-law, Brian Smith and special cousin, best friend, Doug Heuker. Funeral services will be held 1:00 PM, Monday, November 4, 2024 at Rehoboth Reformed Church in Lucas with Rev. Pete Byma officiating. Visitation will be Sunday, from 3:00 to 7:00 PM at Peterson Funeral and Cremation Services in Cadillac. Burial will take place at Lucas Cemetery, Richland Township, Missaukee County, Michigan.
