Hilma Elnora Wier

Hilma Elnora Wier lifelong resident, Cadillac passed away Saturday morning, January 12, 2019 at Cambrian Memory Care in Tecumseh, Michigan. She was 85. Hilma was born December 11, 1933 in Manton, Michigan to Willis Carl and Beulah Myrtle (Collier) Holmberg and they preceded her in death. On June 28, 1952 in Cadillac she married John A. Wier and he preceded her in death on November 26, 1988. She later married Robert Theodore Waldo on November 27, 1999 in Cadillac and he also preceded her in death on November 28, 2002. She graduated from Cadillac High School in 1952. While her children were younger she led girl scouts and 4-H. Later in life she began a social group for recently single adults in Cadillac called, Starting Over, which led to many marriages, including her own second marriage. Hilma loved to quilt, sew and travel. She loved her grandsons and spending time with them. Hilma is survived by her children: Georgia Wier of Middlebury, Indiana, Ruth (Mark) VanBogelen of Manchester, Michigan, Gerald/Gary (Cindy) Wier of Anaheim Hills, California and Teresa (Mark) Camilleri of Midland, Michigan and step-children, Kay (Matthew) Brown and Tammy Waldo. She had 11 grandchildren: Jason (Sheri) Wier, Matthew (Kahla) Wier, Eric (Danielle) VanBogelen, Nicolas (Richelle) VanBogelen, Jonathan (Marlee) Wier, Craig (Lizabeth) VanBogelen, Bryan (Diego) Wier, Anthony Camilleri, Jared (Sara) Wier, Derek (Chelsea) Camilleri, Noah Camilleri; step-grandchildren: Lydia Brown, Timothy (Julie) Brown, Brock (Meagan) Waldo, Aaron (Christin) Waldo; great-grandchildren: Danielle, Andrew, Cade, Kalli, Lille, Everett, Luther, Cole, and Hayden; seven step-great-grandchildren; siblings, Bernadean Gregg and Willa Fagerman both of Cadillac; 20 nieces and nephews and a brother-in-law, Carl David (Karin) Wier. Memorial services will be held 11:00 AM Saturday, January 26, 2019 at the Peterson Funeral and Cremation services in Cadillac with Jason Wier and Mark Camilleri officiating.
