James Albert Campbell

James (Jim) Albert Campbell of Cadillac passed away on Tuesday, November 22, 2022 at Autumnwood of McBain. He was 78. Jim was born June 28, 1944 in Cadillac, MI to Albert John and Myrtle Florence (Kardell) Campbell. He shared his parents with older sister Mary and younger sister Jane. Jim graduated from Cadillac High School in 1962. He married Debra Lee Fauble and blended their two families on August 9, 1997. Jim loved his Lord and Savior and attended Lifehouse Assembly of God. He worked many jobs in the Cadillac community but really enjoyed running parts for the local factories in Michigan and around the country. Jim loved tennis, fast-pitch softball and was legendary at arm wrestling. But Jim is most known for being a great bass player in multiple bands in the area most notably Echabod Crane, Boon Band, Meanstreak and Campbell Soup Band (with Veggies). Jim most enjoyed spending time with his family. Many years spent celebrating Labor Day and July 4th weekends jamming with family and friends in their garage. Sharing “corporate meetings” and his hangover cure of tomato juice and beer with a splash of tabasco. He was an amazing grandfather to his 10 grandchildren and great-grandfather to his 14 great-grandchildren and created many memories that they will cherish always. Jim is survived by his beautiful wife of 25 years Debra; children, Chad (Tammy) Campbell, Brad (Stephanie) Campbell, Catrina (Bobby) Seavey and Richard Ashbay; grandchildren, Amanda (Brad) Spencer, Nathan (Amy) Campbell, Jory (Katie) Campbell, Caitlin (John) DeBoard, Cuyler Huffman, Jordan (Justin) Ahrens, Alyk Ashbay, Christian Campbell, Shyla Ashbay and Cameron Seavey; great- grandchildren, David, Sevilla, Matthew, Aubrie, Eleanor, Magnolia, Jaxon, Kaylee, Dillon, Mara, Emrie, Natalie, Leland and Brayden; sister Mary Neihardt and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents Albert and Myrtle, sister, Jane Swanson, in-laws Clayton and Bonnie Fauble and brothers-in-law Allen Fauble and Ron Neihardt. Arrangements for cremation were provided by Peterson Funeral and Cremation Services in Cadillac. A memorial service will be held at Lifehouse Assembly of God, 1120 W Division St, Cadillac, officiated by Pastor Tom Mattiuzzo on December 23, 2022 at 11:00 am.
