Mark David Lux

Mark David Lux of Cadillac passed away Sunday, April 14, 2024 at Munson Healthcare Cadillac Hospital. He was 57. Mark was born October 4, 1966 to Louis F. and Evelyn L. (McConnell) Lux. Mark was born and raised in Cadillac and was a true family man. On August 1, 1992 he married his high school sweetheart, Rebecca J. Kidder. His son, Cody and daughter, Madison were the lights of his life. Mark loved everything outdoors. He was an avid hunter, hunting bighorn sheep in Wyoming, trophy white tail deer from his hunting property, black bear, and the elusive morel mushrooms. Mark was a true “MacGyver”; he could repair anything only needing an occasional YouTube video for guidance. Mark was very comfortable being the grill master and his family and friends all benefited from his barbequing skills. A sports fan and athlete himself, Mark enjoyed cheering for Cody on the basketball court and football field, Madison on the volleyball court, and all sports maize and blue. Mark’s professional life included inventory and warehouse management. He worked for Clark Food Service, Training Mask, and most recently working with the Northwest MI Community Action Agency providing food for food pantries in Northern MI. He is survived by his wife, Becky; children, Cody and Madison; sisters: Patricia (Brian) Cardinal, Becky (Mike) Fisk, Susan Smith; father and mother in-law: Dean and Mary Kidder; sisters and brothers in-law: Laura (Bruce) McGrady, Kathy (Steve) Erber, Richard Kidder, Marty (Jackie) Kidder, Brenda (Barry) Hanson, Tom (Andrea) Kidder and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; a brother, Craig Lux; a sister, Jane Harrison and his mother-in-law, Cecelia Kidder. Memorial services will be held 11:00 AM Thursday, April 18, 2024 at Peterson Funeral and Cremation Services in Cadillac with Pastor Judy Coffey officiating. Friends may meet the family prior to the service and Wednesday, from 4:00 to 6:00 PM at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to the Cadillac Viking Boosters.
