Minnie Marie Wilson

Minnie Marie Wilson died peacefully Monday August 25, 2014 at her home, Country Oaks AFC Home in Cadillac surrounded by friends. She was 97 years old and experienced failing health for the past couple years. Minnie was born June 24, 1917 in Leroy to William and Jennevive Dobbyn. She married Ronald Eugene Wilson on October 18, 1937. She is survived by one son Brian (Brenda) Wilson of Kalamazoo. She was very proud of her Grandchildren: Jonathan, Lindsay, Patrick, David, Amy and Chad. She was thrilled with several Great-Grandchildren as well. She was preceded in death by her parents, her brother Richard, her sister Daisy, her husband Ronald (1984), and sons David R. Wilson (1992) and Philip W. Wilson (2011). Minnie enjoyed life to the end. Many of her favorite things included reading, shopping, traveling, her pets, music, warm weather, singing, drawing, painting, cooking, her children, grand-children, great-grandchildren, sunbathing, Sunday drives, autumn leaves and colors, getting letters and phone calls, listening to books on tape, movies, yard sales, Christmas, puzzles, laughing, chocolate covered cherries, steam rising up off the early morning lake at the cottage, cooking hotdogs in the fireplace at the cottage, riding on the back of her son, Brian's, motorcycles, trail riding in Brian's VW bug, road trips with Phil, picking up Lindsay from school. Thanks to Dr. Ralph Crew of Crew Eye Center, Big Rapids and Dr. Tanya Lebaron of Cadillac Family Physicians for their insight, professional skill, and excellent care over the years. Thanks also to Irene for talking to, reading to, and being a friend to Minnie. Very special thanks to Richard and Rhonda Ranville , owners of Country Oaks AFC Home, for the love, comfort, and individual care they showed her over the past six years that made a huge difference in her life and truly made their home her home. Funeral services will be held 11:00 a.m. Friday, September 5, 2014 at the Peterson Funeral Home in Cadillac with Reverend Ken Koning officiating. Friends may meet the family 5-7 Thursday at the funeral home. Burial will take place at Fort Custer National Cemetery in Augusta, Michigan.
