Nancy E. Fahrner

Nancy E. Fahrner of McBain passed away Tuesday afternoon, October 28, 2014 after a courageous battle with cancer. She was 66. Nancy was born February 11, 1948 in Cadillac to Forest and Ardice (George) Miller and they preceded her in death. On April 18, 1970, Nancy married Alan Fahrner and he preceded her in death on December 27, 2004. Nancy graduated from McBain Public High School and later earned her license of cosmetology. She worked for several years as a cosmetologist and at Michigan Bulb in Grand Rapids. Nancy moved back to the McBain area in 2006 with her daughter. She had a fun loving and happy personality and loved taking care of others and being there for her family. Nancy enjoyed casino trips and playing cards. She is survived by her daughter, Amy Fahrner of McBain; sisters: Joan Tossey (Bob Stager)of Cadillac, Alice (Larry) Mishler of Plymouth, Michigan and Marcia (Kevin) Fredricks of McBain; sisters in law: Loni Miller of McBain, Kathie Fahrner- Jones, Dorothy (Darrell) Schidroth, Sue (John) Welsh and Sandra Davis all of the Grand Rapids area; nieces and nephews: Ricky (Debra) Tossey, Kevin Tossey, Vicky (Dennis) Lawrence, Kim (Kevin) Moran, Melissa (Doug) McLain, Jack (Meegan) Miller, Jesse (Jackie) Miller, Michelle (Brandon) Elmore, Kirsten (Paul) Deenik, Chris (Linda) Tennant, Leah (Bryan) Barkoff; great nieces and nephews: Amanda, Gregory, Stephanie, Erin, Olivia, Sophia, Jillian, Brandon, Dustin, Connor, Molly, Carter, Zachary, Evan, Jack, Madison, Kayla, Rocco, Morgan, Grady and Oliver. In addition to her parents and husband she was preceded in death by her brother, Paul Miller; a nephew, Corey Parker; brothers in law, Dave Tossey and, father and mother in law, Robert and Edna Fahrner. Memorial services will be held 11:00 AM Saturday, November 8, 2014 at the First Presbyterian Church in Cadillac with Reverend Paul Tomlinson officiating. Friends may meet the family one hour prior to the services at the church. Her final resting place will be Lucas Cemetery.
