Stanley "Stan" F. Estrada

Stanley (Stan) F. Estrada of Cadillac entered into eternal life December 18, 2015 at home with his loving wife Carolyn at his side. Stan was 86 years old, born November 20, 1929 in Detroit, the sixth of eight children born to Estanislao and Guadalupe (Colin) Estrada. He graduated from Western High School and after serving in the seventh army division as an infantry man in the Korean War where he was awarded the Combat Infantry Badge, Purple Heart Medal and other accommodations. He went on to obtain a degree in accounting at Walsh College. He later became a highly regarded systems analyst; working for the big three auto companies and later Blue Cross Blue Shield developing systems for hospitals. A very caring and generous man, he did years of volunteering at the VA hospital in Ann Arbor. While wintering in Mesquite, Nevada he enjoyed teaching English to the Spanish speaking immigrants, as Spanish was his first language. Stanley leaves behind to mourn him his wife, Carolyn Myers Felsk Estrada; from his first marriage he was blessed with eight surviving children: Alice Estrada, Mary (David) Moss, Lawrence (Sara) Estrada, Steven Estrada, Theresa Estrada, Patricia (Tim) Saling, Kathleen Estrada and Martin (Angela) Estrada; 15 grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren. He also welcomed into his life with Carolyn, whom he wed July 6, 1977, four step children: Robin Brooks, Cindy (Dan) Cuddeback, Allison Jackson and Scott (Rachel) Felsk; nine step grandchildren and six step great- grandchildren; brothers in-laws Harvey Walker and Keith Myers; sister in-laws Betty Jones and Kathy (Darrel) Hall, and many nieces and nephews. Waiting for him in heaven are his son, Raymond Estrada 1993; step daughter Shawne Felsk 1992; great- grandson Jack Matthew Cuddeback, 2004 also his parents, siblings, mother and father in laws, Pearl and Clarence Myers, and his sisters-in- law and brothers-in-law. Funeral services will be held 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, December 23, 2015 at the Peterson Funeral Home in Cadillac with Chaplain Walter Ross officiating with full military rites under the auspices of the Cadillac Area Honor Guard. Friends may meet the family one hour prior to the service at the funeral home. Burial will take place at Maple Hill Cemetery in Cadillac.
