Titus Lee Johns

Titus Lee Johns of Cadillac, was welcomed into the arms of The Almighty, when he passed from this life on May 4, 2025. The way he lived blessed the lives of his family, friends, and all those that knew him. Titus was born on September 23, 2005. He was a graduate of Northern Michigan Christian School and had recently completed his freshman year at the Great Lakes Maritime Academy in Traverse City, MI. Titus was an incredible young man who lived with faith. His strong character and gentle heart were always in service to those he loved. Titus was an athlete who excelled in soccer, basketball, and especially golf, a sport in which he competed in the State Finals his Sophomore, Junior, and Senior years of high school. When he wasn’t on the golf course, Titus could be found in the great outdoors, barefoot, seeking adventure, skiing, having a bonfire, plunging into a frigid mountain river, or at the beach enjoying the cold waters of Lake Michigan. In the summer of 2024, Titus spent two weeks on the road, headed west with his Dad and close friend, golfing, enjoying the great outdoors, and reveling in another one of his passions – music. In the fall of 2024, Titus began his studies at the Maritime Academy where he built new friendships, shared new adventures and laughs, while successfully completing his freshman year of the program. Titus led a selfless life of faith in Jesus Christ, and duty to his family. He was loyal, trustworthy, and kind. He was naturally curious and put others at ease. His charisma and humor drew others close to him. He often mentioned the quote that “happiness is only real when shared.” More than his accomplishments, Titus’ true legacy will be remembered in the way he served those he loved. The world is stronger, because of the space he held for others. It is more beautiful, because of the love he shared. It is bigger, because of the experiences he created. With a kind heart, he served; with patience, he put others at ease; with humor, he gave joy; with humility, he shared his gifts; with curiosity, he understood others; with dutifulness, he set the small things right; with faith, he walks with Jesus. Titus’ memory will be cherished by his loving parents, Taralyn and Matt Johns; his siblings, Ava, Chad, and Odin; grandparents: Larry and Suzanne Stahl, Steve and Terri Best and Anne Johns; aunts and uncles: Tonia (Chad) Gernaat, Troy (Sara) Stahl, Tricia (Trent) Case, Tina- Marie (Brooke) DeZeeuw, Kris (Amanda) Johns, Katie (Sean) Thomas, Janelle (Jeremy) Winkle; his cousins, who were his best friends: Tyler (Lynae), Trevor (Courtney), Chase (Desiree), Camden, Brett, Gavin, Trey (Emma), Blake (Mabel) Blair, Ryan, Trevor, Anderson, Caius, Ben, Liam, Iva Mae, Jane and Kennedy; great-grandmother, Bertha Best. Titus was preceded in death by his grandpa, Chad Johns; uncle, Ryan Johns; great-grandparents: Peter and Camille Schierbeek, Peter and Henrietta Stahl, Joan and Ed Host, Roger Best, Al and Jane Tedder. A service to honor Titus’s life will be held at 11:00 AM, Friday, May 9, 2025 at Resurrection Life Church in Cadillac. Visitation will be Thursday from 5:00 to 7:00 at the church.
