Willa W. Fagerman

Courageous, spirited woman Willa Fagerman gracefully passed away on March 2. Willa was born on May 16, 1932 to Willis and Beulah Holmberg at Mercy Hospital in Cadillac. At a young age, Willa’s parents recognized her determined spirit. In 1951, Willa married Kenneth Fagerman and together they raised five children. In 1973, Willa was widowed. In the late 1960s, Willa started her career in real estate which she enjoyed thoroughly. She was proud of her 40 year career and a top seller of homes throughout Cadillac. Willa instilled in her the children the importance of education, honesty, and responsibility. She was very proud of her children’s accomplishments and families. She loved living on Lake Cadillac for 35 years, and enjoyed spending time there with her family, especially her grandchildren. Willa was artistic, independent and resourceful. She was a member of the Cadillac Area Artists’ Association and enjoyed oil, acrylic and watercolor painting. Her paintings now hang in her children’s and grandchildren’s homes. She painted murals in her grandchildren’s bedrooms, and was always up to tackle a new project or learn a new skill. She traveled around Europe for a month in her 50s. Willa enjoyed golf; a highlight was hitting a hole-in-one at the 16th hole at the Cadillac Country Club’s 100th anniversary golf outing in 2010. Willa was preceded in death by her parents, husband Kenneth Sr., beloved son Kenneth Jr., sisters Bernadean Gregg and Hilma Wier, sister-in-law Rosie Lewis, nephew David Gregg, niece Georgia Wier. She is survived by her children Rod (Lynn), Marsha, Sherri (George) and Michael, daughter-in-law Denise, grandchildren Eric (Haley), Kimberly (Chris), Laura (Ryan), Jenna (Michelle), Britta (Jonathan), Sarah (Robert), Anna (Mack) and Niklas, six great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews. A Celebration of Life and Luncheon will be held Sunday April 21, 2024 at 1:00 PM at Fox Hill Event Center, 7640 Mackinaw Trail, Cadillac, MI.
