Alice T. Melluis

November 13, 1930 - November 15, 2013

Alice T. Melluis of Luther passed away Friday, November 15, 2013 at Spectrum Health Butterworth Campus in Grand Rapids. She was 83. She was born on November 13, 1930 in Manistee to Michael & Cecelia (Stuff) Budnik. She resided in Manistee and later in Luther for the remainder of her life. On May 30, 1954 she married Gordon Edel in Manistee where she lived until he preceded her in death in 1972. On October 19, 1974 she married Anthony Melluis of Luther and he preceded her in death in May of 1998. Alice was a member of St. Ignatius Catholic Church in Luther. She loved flowers and enjoyed visiting friends and playing pinochle and was an excellent cook and baker. Survivors include her two brothers: Tony Budnik and Edward (Florence) Budnik and a sister, Virginia Mikula and many nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents and her husband she was preceded in death by her sisters, Clara and Elsie and brothers: Joe, Frank, and Ray. The Mass of Christian Burial will be held 11:00 a.m. Friday, November 22, 2013 at St. Ignatius Catholic Church in Luther with Reverend Fr. Ron Schneider as celebrant. Visitation will be from 10:00 a.m. until time of Mass at church. Burial will be at Mount Carmel Cemetery in Manistee, Michigan.
