Anna N. Marvin

February 18, 1921 - January 11, 2014

Anna N. Marvin, of Cadillac, passed away Saturday, January 11, 2014, at her home. She was 92. She was born on February 18, 1921, in Lucas, Michigan, to Julius and Mary (Nikischer) Drobny. At a very young age her family moved to Cadillac and she spent the rest of her life here and graduated from Cadillac Senior High School in 1939. She may be remembered by many while helping her husband operate Marvin\'s Grocery on Chestnut Street from the mid 1940\'s to early 1950\'s. Anna very much enjoyed being outdoors working in her yard and flower garden, playing cribbage, and loved to dance right up to age 91. She was a wonderful loving mother and grandmother and had a tremendous sense of humor. She is survived by her children: Dennis L. Marvin of Cadillac, and Carol A. (Dale) Stoddard of Beaverton; her grandchildren: Dennis L. (Vicky) Marvin II of Leroy, Trevor J. Walters of Cadillac, Benjamin W. (Carie) Marvin of Cadillac, Eric J. Walters of Las Vegas, Nevada, Renee E. Marvin of Leroy, and Dawn Pettit of Cadillac; great-grandchildren: Dominic (Savannah) Thompson of Traverse City, Bridgett Thompson of Traverse City, Vincent Thompson of Leroy, Clinton MacKinnon (Jason) of Cadillac, Garrett MacKinnon of Cadillac, Taylor M. Walters of Cadillac, Mackenzie J. Walters of Cadillac, Kori Marvin of Cadillac, and Emily A. Marvin of Cadillac; great-great grandchildren: Kayden Thompson and Braiden Thompson of Traverse City, several nieces and nephews, and daughters of her heart: Avis A. (John) Thompson and Diane L. (Richard) Warner all of Cadillac. Anna was preceded in death by her siblings, Joseph Drobny, William Drobny, Walter (Bud) Drobny, Howard Drobny, Kenny Drobny, Hilda (Clifford) Kidder, Irma (Bill) Williams, and Mary Lou (Mitzi) (Messlin) Richter. Memorial services will be held at internment in Selma Township Cemetery at a later date and the family is being served by Peterson Funeral Home in Cadillac. Memorial contributions may be made to Mercy Hospice, 7985 Mackinaw Trail, Cadillac, MI 49601. An online guestbook is available at www.petersonfh.com. Anna\'s family would like to thank the Hospice staff for their support, and a special thank you to April, Laura, Tiffany, Diane, Pam and Dave for the wonderful, loving care they gave to her during the past nine months.
