Ardice Ida Miller

Ardice Ida Miller of McBain died Friday, November 19, 2010 at her home with her family. She was 93. She was born November 12, 1917 in Cadillac to Hugh & Ethel George and they preceded her in death. Ardice graduated from Cadillac High School in 1934 and from Central Michigan University in 1966. On June 25, 1936 she married forest “Jack†Miller and he preceded her in death on November 16, 1994. Mrs. Miller taught school in many country schools and retired from teaching at McBain Public School in 1977. Her hobbies include gardening, reading, and being with her family. Ardice was a member of the First Presbyterian Church in Cadillac. Survivors include her children: Joan Tossey of Cadillac, Alice (Larry) Mishler of Plymouth, Nancy Fahrner, Paul (Luona) Miller, and Marcia (Kevin) Fredricks all of McBain; grandchildren: Rick (Debra) Tossey, Kevin Tossey, Vicky (Dennis) Lawrence, Kim (Kevin) Moran, Amy Fahrner, Jack (Meegan) Miller, Jesse Miller, Chris (Linda) Tennant, Leah (Brian) Barkoff, Corey Parker, Mellissa (Doug) McLain, and Michelle (Brandon) Elmore; 16 great grandchildren; 6 great-great grandchildren; and a brother, Donald George of Cadillac; many nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her brothers: Carroll & Elmer George; sisters-in-law: Virginia George and Esther George; and son-in-laws: David Tossey and Alan Fahrner. Funeral services will be held 2:00 PM Monday, November 22, 2010 at the First Presbyterian Church in Cadillac with Reverend Paul Tomlinson officiating. Burial will be at Maple Hill Cemetery in Cadillac. Friends may meet the family from 2-4 and 6-8 PM Sunday at the Peterson Funeral Home. Memorial contributions may be made to First Presbyterian Church or to Hospice of Michigan
