Arthur Dodde

June 6, 1941 - July 22, 2012

CADILLAC â€" Arthur Dodde, of Wayland, went home to be with his Lord on Sunday, July 22, 2012, at the Laurels of Sandy Creek in Wayland. He was 71. He was born on June 6, 1941, to his stepfather, Lewis VanHuizen and mother, Alice Dodde, in Clam Union Township, Missaukee County. He moved from McBain to the Grand Rapids area in 1955 and graduated from Grandville High School. He had worked in the cement trade and also had been a security guard, retiring in 2000. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and bowling. He attended the Wayland Christian Reformed Church when his health allowed him to. He is survived by his children, Art Jr. Dodde and his son Brandon, Todd (Brenda) Dodde and their son Zachary of Hudsonville, Jene\'e (David) Wolven and their three children of Marysville; aunts and uncles, Trena (Mort) Dieterman of McBain, Marve (Wilma) Dodde of Howard City, and Gen Dodde of Falmouth, and many cousins. He was preceded in death by his parents and grandparents, Dries and Johanna Dodde Memorial services will be held on Saturday, July 28, 2012 at 2 p.m. at the Falmouth Reformed Church, with the Rev. Robert Hekhuis officiating. Burial will be in the Vogel Center Cemetery. There will be a visitation one hour prior to services at the church.
