Arvid C. Samuelson Obituary - Visitation & Funeral Information

Arvid C. Samuelson of Tustin passed away Thursday, June 14, 2012 at Serenity AFC in Cadillac. He was 77. He was born September 5, 1934 in Tustin to Clarence and Hazel (Garringer) Samuelson and they preceded him in death. Mr. Samuelson had lived in the Tustin area all his life and graduated from Tustin High School. Arvid served his country in the United States Army. He had worked at Cadillac Malleable Iron and had also delivered milk for a local dairy company, and retired from Pine River School District in 2002 where he worked for 40 years. He loved going to yard sales and car auctions at Galvanek\'s. He also enjoyed fishing and activities at the senior center. He was a member of the VFW in Leroy. Arvid also enjoyed the time he spent at Serenity AFC Home. He is survived by his children, Rolland (Alice) Samuelson of Tustin and Mary (Robert) Wanstead of Leroy; grandson, Joshua Samuelson; brothers, Pete (Betty) Samuelson of Montrose and Herbert Samuelson of Tustin; sisters Sue (Don) Andreen of Tustin and Joyce Strang of Jenison and many nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his brothers, Paul in 1997 and Richard in 2005. Funeral services will be held 10:00 a.m. Monday, June 18 , 2012 at the Peterson Funeral Home in Cadillac with Reverend Robert Kahly officiating. Friends may meet the family from 5-7 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home. Burial will be at Burdell Township Cemetery in Osceola County with full military rites under the auspices of the Cadillac Area Honor Guard.
