Barbara Jean Lenz Obituary - Visitation & Funeral Information

Barbara Jean Lenz of Cadillac passed away Saturday, January 5, 2013 at Spectrum Health in Grand Rapids. She was 82. Barb was born August 30, 1930 in Detroit, Michigan to Richard and Mabel Catherine (Hull) Hartley. Barb worked at the Detroit Public Library for several years, before the birth of her children. Barb and her husband, Bob, moved to Cadillac in 1985 where they became members of Zion Lutheran Church. She enjoyed singing in the church choir. She loved to read and to travel nationally and internationally. Barb also enjoyed skiing and gardening. On May 5, 1951 in Detroit she married Robert G. â€œBobâ€ Lenz and he survives her along with their children, James Lenz of Tennessee and Cathy (Jim) Canary of New York, and three grandchildren: Karen and David Lenz and John Canary. She was preceded in death by her sisters, Beverly and JoAnn. Funeral services will be held 1:00 p.m. Tuesday, January 8, 2013 at the Zion Lutheran Church in Cadillac with Reverend Scott Torkko officiating with visitation one hour prior to the service. Friends may also meet the family Monday from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. at the Peterson Funeral Home in Cadillac. Burial will take place at Maple Hill Cemetery.
