Clarence Tubergen

Clarence Tubergen of Cadillac passed away Wednesday, June 12, 2013 at Mercy Hospital. He was 83. He was born July 23, 1929 in McBain to Martin and Clara (Hoffman) Tubergen. Mr. Tubergen graduated from McBain High School and served in the United States Army. He had lived in Grand Rapids and Saginaw before returning to Cadillac permanently. He had a career in International Truck Sales for over 30 years. He was a member of Cadillac Christian Reformed Church. He enjoyed: reading, crossword puzzles, camping, fishing and classical music. On October 6, 1950 at the Rehoboth Reformed Church in Lucas he married the former Betty J. Bazuin and she survives him along with their children: Tim (Faith) Tubergen of Atlanta, Georgia, Mark (Karen) Tubergen of Mount Prospect, Illinois, Paul (Deborah) Tubergen of Nazareth, Pennsylvania and Melinda (John) Baur of Normal, Illinois; grandchildren: Caitlin, Lauren, Stephen, Philip, Elizabeth, Aaron, Pieter, Claire and Benjamin and a sister, Josephine DeRuiter of Falmouth. He was preceded in death by his parents; a grandson, Micah in 1990; brothers, Myron, Ben and Harold and a sister, Gertrude. Funeral services will be held 11:00, Saturday, June 15, 2013 at the Cadillac Christian Reformed Church with Reverend Ron Klimp officiating. Friends may meet the family from 4-7 p.m. on Friday at the Peterson Funeral Home in Cadillac. Burial will take place at the Mount View Cemetery in McBain with full military rites under the auspices of the Cadillac Area Honor Guard.
