Dennis A. "Buck" Rogers

Dennis A. "Buck†Rogers of Boon passed away Monday, June 3, 2013 at Green Acres Retirement Living in Cadillac. He was 61. He was born in Cadillac on May 7, 1952 to Kenneth D. & Theola L. (Haines) Rogers and they preceded him in death. Denny graduated from Mesick High School and had served in the United States Navy during Vietnam. He had been employed as the Animal Control officer for the Wexford County Sheriff's Office for over 20 years and retired in 2011. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, camping and boating. Survivors include his children: Ken (Kate) Rogers of Boon, Brian Rogers of Luther, Joseph Rogers of Marquette, and Dalcie Thompson of Mesick; 9 grandchildren; 3 sisters: Donna (Mark) Brown, Diane (Larry) Koch, and Doreen (Ron) Nolan and many nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by a daughter Shasta Rogers in 1983. Memorial services will be held 11:00 AM Saturday, June 8, 2013 at the Peterson Funeral Home in Cadillac with Reverend Lloyd Jewett officiating. His final resting place will be Meauwataka Cemetery in Colfax Township, Wexford County. Friends may meet the family at the Funeral home from 5-7 PM on Friday.
