Doris I. Johnson Obituary - Visitation & Funeral Information

Doris I. Johnson of Clare formerly of Cadillac passed away Monday, March 24, 2014 at Tendercare of Clare. She was 86. She was born on June 18, 1927 in Cadillac to Walter & Eulalie (Emshwiller) Malmstrom. On March 27, 1948 she married Frederick Stanley Johnson and he preceded her in death on November 18, 2002. Doris was a member of Temple Hill Baptist Church since 1938 and had been employed at the IGA and the Cadillac News. She enjoyed bowling, golfing, crossword puzzles, dominos and was a hospice volunteer. Survivors include her son, Jeff Johnson (Ellouise Herkel) of Coleman; granddaughter, Tanya (Michael) LaMont of Farwell; 2 great grandchildren: Brooke and Bailee LaMont; a niece, Karolynn Pargo. In addition to her parents and husband she was preceded in death by a sister, Bernice DeButts; a brother-in-law, Preston DeButts and a nephew, Duane DeButts. Funeral services will be held 11:00 AM Saturday, March 29, 2014 at the Temple Hill Baptist Church in Cadillac with Reverend Jack Miller and Reverend David Roose officiating. Her final resting place will be Selma Township Cemetery in Wexford County. Friends may meet the family from 10:00 AM Saturday until time of services at the church.
