Dorothy D. Marshall Obituary - Visitation & Funeral Information

Dorothy D. Marshall of Cadillac died Sunday afternoon, October 9, 2011 at Mercy Hospital in Cadillac. She was 85. She was born in Lucas on March 5, 1926 to John & Johanna (Elenbaas) Pell and raised by her Â½ Brother, John & Ellen (Carlson) Pell and they preceded her in death. She married Leonard Marshall, Jr. in Cadillac on October 21, 1945 and he preceded her in death on December 20, 2008. Dorothy has lived in the Cadillac area all her life and graduated from Cadillac High School. She had been employed at J.C. Penny\'s in Cadillac for 30 years and retired in 1989. She was a member of Zion Lutheran Church in Cadillac where she had been a Sunday school teacher. She enjoyed playing canasta, bunco, sewing, reading and going to the casino. Survivors include her children: Mary E. (Greg) Streff, Jack L. (Linda) Marshall all of Cadillac and Jerry A. (Mary) Marshall of Midland; 7 grandchildren: Todd Marshall, Jody Marshall, Scott Marshall, Angela (Tim) Perry, Christina Streff, Chasity Bramlett, and Chad Marshall; great grandchildren: Page Marshall, Anna Perry, Ava Streff, and Ashley, Victoria and Cody Bramlett; two sisters: Anna Baas of Grand Rapids and Gertrude Bouwma of Florida; sister-in-law, Edith Grashuis of Hastings; brother-in-law, Russell Marshall of Grand Ledge and many nieces and nephews. In addition her parents and husband she was preceded in death by a brother, Joe Pell, Â½ brother, Carl Grashuis and grandsons: Terry and Jamie Marshall. Funeral services will be held 11:00 AM Thursday, October 13, 2011 at the Peterson Funeral Home in Cadillac with Reverend Scott Torkko officiating. Burial will be at Maple Hill Cemetery in Cadillac.
