Edith D. Hoag of Manton passed away, Thursday October 24, 2013 at her home. She was 99. She was born on October 4, 1914 in Athens, Michigan to Oscar Franklin & Goldie Dellell (Gould) Inman. On November 25, 1935 in Reed City she married Charles W. Hoag and he preceded her in death on November 30, 1992. Edith moved to Cadillac shortly after getting married and was a member of Emmanuel Lutheran Church in Cadillac. She enjoyed crocheting, sewing, canning, flower gardening, berry picking and walking. Survivors include her children: Geri Merchant of Manton, Beverly Bravo of Texas and Dennis (Julie) Hoag of Cadillac; daughter-in-law, Tarra Hoag of Manton; 17 grandchildren; 41 great grandchildren and many great-great grandchildren. In addition to her parents and husband she was preceded in death by a son, Dale Hoag, a daughter Arlene Johnson, 2 grandsons: Martin Kangas and Greg Hoitenga and 2 great grandchildren. Funeral services will be held 11:00 AM Monday, October 28, 2013 at the Emmanuel Lutheran Church in Cadillac with Reverend Joel Hess officiating. Burial will be at Maple Hill Cemetery in Cadillac. Friends may meet the family from 4-6 PM Sunday at the Peterson Funeral Home in Cadillac. Memorial contributions may be made to the Emmanuel Lutheran Church.
