Edith E. Trowbridge

Edith E. Trowbridge of Luther passed away Wednesday, May 21, 2014 at Munson Medical Center in Traverse City. She was 78. Edith was born January 30, 1936 in Tustin to Laurel E. & Idolia G. (Smith) Meyers and they preceded her in death. Mrs. Trowbridge lived most her life in the Tustin and Luther area and graduated from Luther High School in 1954. She later married Alfred J. Trowbridge on September 2, 1955 at the Dover Baptist Church in Bristol and he preceded her in death on December 4, 1997. She spent most of her adult years as a homemaker and enjoyed cooking meals for family and friends. She really enjoyed her grandchildren, flowers and gardening. Her favorite place was her home, but she had traveled to several places in the United States and Europe. She also had hosted exchange students and friends from Denmark. She was a member of the Luther Lions Club and Dover Baptist Church in Bristol. She is survived by her children: Dorothy (Terry) Northup of Howard City, Laurel (Pamela) Trowbridge of Luther, Elayne (Robert) Little of Whitmire, South Carolina and Clark (Diane) Trowbridge of Luther; 11 grandchildren; one great grandchild and sisters, Jean Richardson of Midland and Julie (John) Anderson of Cache, Oklahoma. Funeral services will be held 12 Noon Saturday, May 24, 2014 at the Peterson Funeral Home in Cadillac with Pastor Kenneth Simmons officiating. Burial will be at Dover Township Cemetery on Lake County. Friends may meet the family from 4-7 PM today (Friday) at the Funeral Home. Memorial contributions may be made to the charity of your choice.
