Elaine Katherine McConnell

Elaine Katherine McConnell of Cadillac passed away Tuesday, August 7, 2012 at Autumnwood of McBain. She was 81. She was born September 27, 1930 in Grand Rapids to William and Doris (Dean) Werner. She married Raymond F. McConnell on February 17, 1948 in Cadillac and he preceded her in death on November 19, 2011. She had been employed at Michigan Bell, Plywood Factory in Cadillac, Riverside Electric of Marion and Gould\'s Drug Store in Cadillac. Mrs. McConnell enjoyed cooking, going to the casino and spending time with her grandchildren. She is survived by their children: Belinda (Michael) Bathrick of LaGrange, KY, Michael McConnell and (Faye), William (Rosemarie) McConnell and Robert (Patricia) McConnell all of Cadillac; five grandchildren; five great grandchildren and a brother, Dean (Geri) Werner of Florida. In addition to her husband she was preceded in death by her parents; three sisters, Helen Bowman, Maxine Wemple and Joyce Gould; a step sister, Maxine Wirth and a grandson, Scott Bathrick. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, August 11, 2012 at 11:00 a.m. at the Peterson Funeral Home in Cadillac with Pastor Bob Zeeryp officiating. Burial will take place at Maple Hill Cemetery, Cadillac. Friends may meet the family from 6-8 pm Friday at the Funeral Home. Memorial contributions can be made to Hospice of Michigan.
