Florence Marie Monroe Obituary - Visitation & Funeral Information

Florence Marie Monroe of Cadillac (Meauwataka) went to be with her Lord Monday, July 23, 2012 at Sunnyside Senior Living in Cadillac. She was 92. She was born in Meauwataka on January 1, 1920 to Charles â€œJumboâ€ and Maude Bell (Lamunion) French and they preceded her in death. On May 10, 1941, in Wexford County she married Edward L. Monroe and he preceded her death on October 23, 2003. Florence was a member of Meauwataka Committee and the Free Methodist Church. She enjoyed canning, sewing and quilting. She also enjoyed camping and spending time with her grandchildren. She is survived by her children: Ron (Linda) Monroe or Boon, Ray (Sandy) Monroe of Meauwataka, Tom (Pam) Monroe of Brethern and Sandy (Otto) Ream of Mesick; eight grandchildren; seven great grandchildren; a brother, Don (Evelyn) French of Cadillac and a sister, Leita Knowles of South Carolina. In addition to her parents and husband she was preceded in death by a granddaughter, Jodi Moffit in 2010; sisters: Vena, Ida, Ardith and Imogene and brothers: Lynn, Archie, Scott, Charles, Dale, Darrell and Maxwell. Funeral services will be held 2:00 PM Thursday, July 26, 2012 at the Peterson Funeral Home in Cadillac with Pastor Carol R. Small officiating. Burial will be at Meauwataka Cemetery in Colfax Township, Wexford County. Friends may meet the family from 2-4 & 6-8 PM today (Wednesday) at the Funeral Home.
