Gary A. Anderson

January 5, 1954 - September 3, 2013

Gary A. Anderson of Cadillac went home to be with his Savior, Tuesday evening, September 3, 2013 at his home after a 2 year courageous battle with cancer. He was 59. He was born on January 5, 1954 in Cadillac to Douglas A. & Virginia I. (Brooks) Anderson. Gary had lived all his life in Cadillac and graduated from Cadillac High School in 1972. He started his career at Oleson's of Cadillac at the age of 17 as a bagger and worked his way up to Scanning Coordinator at the Traverse City Silver Lake Road location until his illness caused his early retirement. He was a member of the UFCW Union for 40 years. Gary's interests included Farmall Tractors, photography, hunting and going to the Buckley Old Engine Show. He is survived by his father, Douglas A. Anderson; brother, Dennis (Deb) Anderson; sisters: Sheryl Anderson all of Cadillac and Debbie (Rudy) Wright of Kalamazoo; nephews: Andrew (Becky) Anderson of Midland and Thomas Anderson of Cadillac; grandniece, Emily and grandnephew, Adam both of Midland; 1 Aunt and several cousins. He was preceded in death by his mother, Virginia I. Anderson on January 25, 2013. Funeral services will be held 1:00 PM Friday, September 6, 2013 at the Peterson Funeral Home in Cadillac with Reverend James Mort officiating. Burial will be at Clam Lake Township Cemetery in Wexford County immediately following the service. Friends may meet the family from 5-7 PM Thursday at the funeral home.
