Gerald L "Jerry" DeHart Obituary - Visitation & Funeral Information

Gerald L "JerryÃ¢â‚¬Â DeHart of Cadillac passed away Saturday, September 28, 2013 at Seminole Shores Living Center in Muskegon. He was 88. He was born on September 2, 1925 in Isabella County to Donald & Hazel (Goffnett) DeHart and they preceded him in death. Jerry served in the United States Air Force for two years. He had been employed at Kidder Machine, Clark Gas and Puggsley Correctional Facility to name some of the varied places he had worked. Jerry loved to work with wood and make "what-notsÃ¢â‚¬Â . He also loved the outdoors, hunting, fishing, and taking drives through the woods and back roads. Jerry was very fussy in keeping up his home, his big yard, and his Lincoln. He had many stories of his hunting days and loved to reminisce of the jobs he had throughout his life as well as his time in the Air Force. On April 21, 1973 he married Vera (Babb) DeHart and she survives him along with his step-son, Paul Montague of Muskegon; granddaughter, Kimberly (Mark) Pierce of Muskegon; great-grandchildren, Noah and Rachel Pierce; sisters: Goldie Panetta of Holt, MI and Donna Bowen of Lansing, MI, and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Ernie DeHart. Funeral services will be held 12 Noon Saturday, Oct. 5, 2013 at Grace Bible Church, 1302 Laurel Street in Cadillac with Pastor Hersel Wing officiating. Burial will be at Maple Hill Cemetery in Cadillac. Friends may meet the family Saturday from 11 am until service time at the church. Memorial contribution can be made to Grace Bible Church.
