Irene F. Richardson

March 2, 1921 - March 18, 2013

Irene was born on March 2, 1921 in Cadillac to Earl and Bertha (Garrow) Spitler and they preceded her in death. She was the beloved wife of Donald Richardson whom she married on February 17, 1940 in Cadillac and he preceded her in death on July 10, 2003. She was a lifelong resident of Cadillac. Irene was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, great-great grandmother and friend. She enjoyed life to the fullest and was always willing to help anyone in need. She and her husband traveled and were truly soul mates. Irene was the owner and operator of Irene's Beauty Shop in Cadillac for over 50 years. She loved her work and made many lifelong friends. Her daughters and family were truly blessed to have her in their lives. Survivors include her daughters: Donna (Jon) Boersma of Cadillac and Nancy June; eight grandchildren; several great and great- great grandchildren; many nieces and nephews; two brothers-in-law and two sisters-in-law. In addition to her parents and husband she was preceded in death by brothers: John, Earl, and Elmer Spitler; sisters: Alta Soderquist, Marvel Grames, Laura Hoffman and Gladys Richardson; four brothers-in-law; one sister-in-law, one grandchild and one great grandchild. According to Irene's wishes cremation has taken place and a graveside service and a celebration of life luncheon will be held in the spring. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to Mercy Hospice of Cadillac or to the American Cancer Society. Arrangements were made by the Peterson Funeral Home in Cadillac.
