Isaac J. "Ike" Elenbaas Obituary - Visitation & Funeral Information

Isaac J. \"Ike\" Elenbaas of McBain died Friday, August 5, 2011 at Autumnwood of McBain. He was 86. He was born on January 8, 1925 in McBain to Jacob I. & Elizabeth (Schut) Elenbaas and they preceded him in death. Ike served in the United States Army and the United States Navy during World War II and the Korean Conflict and received several medals. After the coming back home for the war he had been employed at Chris Craft in Cadillac and retired from Franke\'s Septic Tank Service. He enjoyed gardening, deer hunting and for many years he raised and showed Registered Champion Quarter Horses. Survivors include his sister, Marie (Clare) Danford of Cadillac; brother, Joe Elenbaas of Gaylord and many nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by 3 brothers: Jay, James and Robert Elenbaas and 3 sisters: Caroline Lutke, Margaret Bell and Eleanor Edwards and in-laws: Alfred Bell, Jess Lutke and Frieda Elenbaas. Funeral services will be held 11:00 AM Tuesday, August 9, 2011 at the Burkholder Funeral Home in McBain with Reverend Jack Miller officiating. Burial will be at Mount View Cemetery in McBain with full military rites under the auspices of the Cadillac Area Honor Guard. Friends may meet the family at the funeral home from 5-7 PM Monday.
