Jacquelyn L. Sorger Obituary - Visitation & Funeral Information

Jacquelyn L. Sorger of Cadillac passed away Thursday, August 21, 2014 at Green Acres Retirement Living in Cadillac. She was 88. Jacquelyn was born April 29, 1926 in Mount Clemens, Michigan to Oliver C. and Lorraine P. (Trombley) Marcoux. Jacquelyn graduated from Mount Clemens High School and married Stephen J. Sorger on March 5, 1946 in Mount Clemens and he preceded her in death on January 15, 1991. Mrs. Sorger enjoyed raising her family and later was employed at O'Neill's Ace Hardware in the toy department for many years. She volunteered at the Carl T. Johnson Hunting and Fishing museum and was also an election worker for the City of Cadillac. Mrs. Sorger was a member of St. Ann Catholic Church in Cadillac. She enjoyed bowling, bingo, gardening, going to the casino with seniors and most of all her grandchildren. Mrs. Sorger is survived by her children: Michael (Susan) Sorger of Lakewood, Ohio, Patrick (Mary) Sorger of Cadillac, Jere Sorger (Jill Smart) of Sparta and Thomas (Consuelo) Sorger of Bay City; six grandchildren: Evan (Samantha) Sorger, Stephen Sorger, Kelly (Scott) Buckmaster, Jesse (Kandi) Sorger, Emily (Tom) Taylor and Cora (Alan) Carr; seven great grandchildren; a sister, Judy (Joe) Bingham of Lorain, Ohio and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband and two brothers, Oliver "BubÃ¢â‚¬Â Marcoux and George "SandyÃ¢â‚¬Â Schroeder. In accordance with her wishes cremation has taken place and a private memorial mass will be held at St. Ann Catholic Church in Cadillac. An online guestbook is available at www.petersonfh.com.
