James E. \"J.D.\" Dedyne of Cadillac passed away Tuesday, August 14, 2012 at Mercy Hospital. He was 77. He was born in Grand Ledge, Michigan on February 14, 1935 to Emil Leon and June Isabelle (Tansley) Dedyne and they preceded him in death. Mr. Dedyne graduated from Williamston High School. He was a member of the Operating Engineers Local 324 for over 55 years and a Business Agent for over 20 years. He was a member of the Fraternal Order of the Eagles in Williamston and Lake City. Mr. Dedyne was also a member of the Masonic Lodge. He enjoyed deer hunting and fishing. He was an avid fan of Michigan sports. He married the former Frances May Shirey on November 26, 1952 in La Grange, Indiana and she survives him along with their children: Steven J. (Dorothy) Dedyne of Saginaw, Marilyn J. (Tim O\'Neill) Dedyne of Livonia, Connie F. (Pete) Roush of Harrietta; six grandchildren; one great grandchild; a brother, Robert (Marsha) Dedyne of St. Johns, Michigan and many nieces and nephews. Memorial services will be held 11:00 AM Saturday August 25, 2012 at the Peterson Funeral Home in Cadillac with Reverend Brian Seifert officiating. Friends may meet the family one hour prior to the service at the Peterson Funeral Home. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Red Cross or the American Cancer Society.
