James A. "Jim" Robinson

April 14, 1940 - November 28, 2013

James A. "Jim†Robinson of Marion passed away Thursday, November 28, 2013 at his home. He was 73. Jim was born April 14, 1940 in Monroe, Michigan to James and Marguerite (Philips) Robinson and they preceded him in death. Jim served in the United States Navy as an aircraft electrician and was active duty for ten years. He then continued for ten more years in the reserves, serving seven months in Desert Storm. He worked as a maintenance electrician for General Motors for 26 years. He was a member of Emmanuel Lutheran Church in Cadillac and a member of the Marion Gun Club. He enjoyed shooting, hunting, fishing, camping and hunting for morel mushrooms. On November 3, 1978 in Fairborn, Ohio he married the former Linda M. Thomas and she survives him with children: Kim Robinson, Daniel Robinson, Jimmy Scott (Loraine) Robinson, Kay (Rick) Wilmoth, Kathy Gall all of Ohio, Jack (Katie) Robinson of Tennessee and Beth Anne (Chad) Cole of LaPeer, Michigan; 13 grandchildren; 13 great grandchildren and siblings, Barb (Don) Wolfenbarger, Jerry (Karen) Robinson and Bonnie Merrill all of Monroe, Michigan. In addition to his parents Jim was preceded in death by an infant brother, Robert. Funeral services will be held 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, December 4, 2013 at the Emmanuel Lutheran Church in Cadillac with Reverend Joel Hess officiating. Friends may meet the family one hour prior to the service at the church. Burial will be at Greenwood Cemetery in Marion. In accordance with Jim's wishes; in lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to Emmanuel Lutheran Church to minister and let people hear and learn the Word of the Lord. Arrangements were made by the Peterson Funeral Home in Cadillac. An online guestbook is available at www.petersonfh.com.
