James Oliver Larson

James Oliver Larson of Cadillac passed away Friday morning, March 1, 2013 at his home. He was 69. Mr. Larson was born July 8, 1943 in Detroit, Michigan to Oliver John and Edna Petrea (Dahlquist) Larson and they preceded him in death. Mr. Larson graduated from Mackenzie High School in Detroit. He then served in the United States Army. After serving in the Army he worked at Triangle Broach Company in Detroit. Later he was a Master Electrician for IBEW (International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers) at Local 56 out of Detroit and Local 665 out of Lansing for over 30 years, retiring out of Lansing in 1999. He has lived in the Cadillac area since 2000. He was a member of the American Legion Post #94 of Cadillac as well as the Yellowstone Camping Club and Wandering Wolverines. He enjoyed wood working, traveling, camping, fishing, boating and auto racing. On March 2, 1968 in Detroit he married the former Enid Kathleen Niemisto and she survives him along with their daughter, Bonnie (Ken) Marr of Lansing and two grandchildren. In accordance with his wishes cremation has taken place and a memorial service will be held at a later date. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society.
