Joe Tracey, a long-time resident of Cadillac and avid fisherman of Northern Michigan rivers, walked into heaven on two strong legs on Monday, December 10, 2012, with his loving family by his side, following a battle with health complications at Mercy Hospital in Cadillac. He was 58. Joe was born on May 2, 1954. Joe was a graduate of Flushing High School in 1972, known for his talented auto body work in the Cadillac area. Joe will be remembered fondly for being a dedicated fisherman who had a zest for the Michigan out-of-doors, well known for his cooking talents, unparalleled sense of humor and total dedication to his family and friends whom he loved and who loved him unconditionally. He leaves behind his father, Basil (Bill) Tracey; brother, James (Jim) Tracey and wife, Jan; niece, Colleen Fisher of Minn.; his sister, Joyce Kelley, and niece, Shannon Kelley; nephew, Tracey Overmyer and wife, Denice, plus great-nieces, Taylor and Jordan; and close cousins, Dianna Lowe and husband, Ken of North Carolina; Norma Trump and daughter Caroline of Florida; plus many close friends who have showered him with love and affection. He was preceded in death by his mother, Lillian Tracey in 1982 and his close cousin, Steve Beaman in 2002. We are so thankful for ‘family that are friends\' and ‘friends that are family.\' We are all held together by God\'s love. A memorial service is being planned for Saturday, December 22, 2012, at 2 p.m. at the Knights of Columbus Hall in Cadillac.
