John S. Marx Obituary - Visitation & Funeral Information

John S. Marx of Mesick passed away Monday, November 4, 2013 at his home. He was 58. He was born February 4, 1955 in Detroit, Michigan to George Stanley and Alfreida Rose (Badalamenti) Marx. John graduated from Armada High School and had worked for Blue Water Trucking for 30 years. He was a member of Winter Promotions and enjoyed grooming the snowmobile trails. John loved to snowmobile, enjoyed going on vacation and cruises, his John Deere toys and classic cars. He had a great sense of humor and was a very loving husband. He is survived by his wife of 39 years, Peggy; his mother, Alfreida Marx; a sister, Karen (Joseph) Friedmann, Jr.; in laws: Gerald (Jan) Kaatz, Larry (Diane) Kaatz, Carol (Lorne) Haase, Ruth (Dale) Bauman, Jim (Cathy) Kaatz, Sue (Dan ) Roussin, Sally (Bill) Lynch, Shirley (James) Thomas, Patti (Rich) Serek, Linda (Bob) Prior and Kathy Kaatz-Kerin; many nieces and nephews; two Godchildren, Robert Kerin III and Joseph Friedmann III and his two loving dogs, Autumn and Sammy. He was preceded in death by his father, George and mother in law Bernice Kaatz. Memorial services will be held at a later date. Memorial contributions may be made to Mercy Hospice or Karmanos Cancer Institute in Petoskey. Arrangements were made by the Peterson Funeral Home in Cadillac.
