John C. Schone Obituary - Visitation & Funeral Information

John C. Schone of Cadillac passed away Saturday, April 19, 2014 at his home. He was 90. He was born October 2, 1923 in Traverse City, Michigan to John and Sarah (Baranek) Schone. John worked as a heating and air conditioning salesman to contractors in all of Northern Michigan, including the Upper Peninsula. He served his country in the United States Army during World War II. He enjoyed bowling and was very good at it. He also spent many hours playing golf and loved playing with friends. He was the former director of Cadillac Country Club and was a member for several years. He was a life member of the Elks and VFW. He was a member of St. Ann Catholic Church where he served as an usher for several years. On September 12, 1946 in Cadillac he married Beatrice M. Larson and she survives him, along with three daughters, Marie (Bill) Rohlfs of Ormond Beach, Florida, Sharon Rogers of Charlotte, Michigan and Sara (Kim) Garrod of Cadillac; seven grandchildren; ten great-grandchildren; a sister, Maxine Larson of Ludington, brothers in law, Harold Larson of Cadillac and Don (Betty) Larson of Manton and many well loved nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother in law, Vern Larson. The Mass of Christian Burial will take place 11:00 a.m. Friday, April 25, 2014 at St. Ann Catholic Church in Cadillac with Msgr. Francis J. Murphy as celebrant and full military rites under the auspices of the Cadillac Area Honor Guard. Friends may meet the family one hour prior to the service at the church. Burial will be at Mount Carmel Cemetery in Cadillac. Memorial contributions may be made to St. Ann Catholic Church. An online guestbook is available at www.petersonfh.com
