John D. Taylor of Harrietta died Monday evening, February 13, 2012 at Autumnwood of McBain. He was 90. He was born on July 4, 1921 in Mulberry Grove, Illinois to Levi J. & Lillie L. (Perdue) Taylor and they preceded him in death. John was a Veteran of World War II serving in the United States Army. In 1942 he married the former Muriel Buckley and she preceded him in death on February 8, 1987. Mr. Taylor had been employed at Burroughs in Detroit for 30 years and has lived in the Harrietta area for the past 40 years where he was active at St. Edwards Catholic Church serving as Eucharistic Minister as well as many other ways. He was a member of the Cadillac Sportsman\'s Club and enjoyed photography. Survivors include his children: Dan (Nancy) Taylor of South Carolina, Linda (Joe) Ignagni of Livonia, Dawnice Kerkheart of Pontiac, John Paul (Debby) Taylor of Florida, Paul Taylor of Idaho, and Dean (Donna) Taylor of Harrietta; 14 grandchildren; 19 great grandchildren. Funeral services will be held 11:00 AM Friday, February 17, 2012 at the Peterson Funeral Home in Cadillac with Deacon James Siler officiating. Burial will be at Mount Carmel Cemetery in Cadillac. Friends may meet the family Friday from 10:00 AM until time of services at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to St. Ann Catholic Church.
