John Logan Vink Obituary - Visitation & Funeral Information

TUSTIN - John Logan Vink, age 88, of Tustin, passed away at the home of his daughter on Oct. 6, 2011. He was born on February 21, 1923, in Norristown, Penn., to John Alexander and Lena Martha (Wilson) Vink. He married Vernabell Sherman on May 31, 1985, in Marathon, Fla. He attended Georgia Tech and graduated from Penn State University. He worked as a salesman in the pharmaceutical business and in insurance. He also worked in real estate and for the Bank of America. He retired in 1980. He served in the U.S. Army from 1942 to 1944. He was a member of the American Legion post in Williams, Ariz., and served as Master in the Masonic Lodge there. He was also a member of the Silver Trowel in Phoenix, Ariz. He enjoyed boating, fishing, building, trains, flying and water sports. He is survived by his wife, Vernabell Vink of Marco Island, Fla.; children, Robin (John) Wigger of Tustin, and Peter L. Vink of Cheno Valley, Ca.; a stepson, Anthony Sherman of Marco Island, Fla.; and many other relatives. He was preceded in death by his parents, and his siblings, Jane Vink and Allen Vink.
