Joyce Ann Vanas Obituary - Visitation & Funeral Information

Joyce Ann Vanas of Leroy passed away Thursday, April 10, 2014 at Mercy Hospital in Cadillac. She was 84. She was born February 1, 1930 in Cadillac, Michigan to Clarence A. and Alice Luhrs and they preceded her in death. She married William R. Vanas and he preceded her in death on August 27, 1991. Joyce had been employed at Riverside Electric in Marion and Mitchell Corp and RexAir. She enjoyed fishing, going to Florida, traveling, camping, cooking and long rides. She is survived by her children: Susan (Albert Ray) Sutten of Marion, Karon (Steve) Ingraham of Marion, Sharon Anderson of Tustin, Babe Vanas of Leroy and Danny Vanas of Evart; grandchildren: Tammy (Todd) Hamilton, Danny Vanas, Jr., Joy (Ed) Proctor, Jeff (Regina) Kanouse, Lori (EJ) Fisher, Wendy Vanas, Eric Vanas, Angie (Dennis) DePew, Michelle (Darrin) Harrington, Steve (Tami) Ingraham, Jr., Joe (Sally) Ingraham, Bobby Vanas, Amanda Ingraham, David Ingraham and Rick (Jane) Ingraham; many great grandchildren and many great- great grandchildren. Joyce was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; a brother, Bud Luhrs and two sisters, Luella Skelton and Margaret Bush. Funeral services will be held 1:00 p.m. , Monday, April 14, 2014 at the McBain Chapel, Peterson Funeral Home (212 East Maple Street) with Pastor Derek Carpenter officiating. Friends may meet the family Sunday from 4-6 PM at the McBain Chapel. Her final resting place will be Sherman Township Cemetery in Osceola County.
