Lester W. Miller

Lester "Bud†Miller of Mesick passed away Monday, August 5, 2013 at his home. He was 94. He was born May 28, 1919 in Antioch Township, Wexford County to Chester A. and Nellie A. (Johnson) Miller. Mr. Miller lived in the Mesick area all his life. He served in the United States navy during World War II. On January 26, 1946 in Cadillac he married the former Violet L. Usewick and she preceded him in death on September 2, 2008. He worked at the State Hospital in Traverse City for over 20 years before retiring in 1978. He was an avid hunter and wood worker. Mr. Miller was a great inventor; he built his own sawmill in order to do wood working from start to finish. He enjoyed wood carving and talking with people from all walks of life. He is survived by his sons, Paul (Sharyn) Miller of Reed City and John R. Miller of Idaho and sisters, Betty Miller of Charlevoix and Marion Root of Mesick. He was preceded in death by his wife and a sister, Dorothy Clark. In accordance with his wishes cremation has taken place and his final resting place will be Antioch Township Cemetery in Wexford County. An online guestbook is available at www.petersonfh.com.
