Loretta Jean Holmquist of Cadillac died Sunday May 14, 2011 at Munson Medical Center in Traverse City. She was 70. She was born on June 13, 1940 in Cadillac to Earl E. & Nellie M. (Bigger) Little and they preceded her in death. She graduated from Cadillac High school in 1959. In April of 1962 she married Lawrence Holmquist, Jr. and he preceded her in death on October 8, 1984. Loretta was employed at Mercy Hospital in Cadillac for over 40 years and retired in 2002. She enjoyed going to the casino, playing bingo, spending time with family and friends, her garden and she loved her dogs: Benji and Bandit. Survivors include her sons: Kevin Holmquist and Brent Holmquist (Lisa Johnson); sister: Roxanna (Martin) Torry; sister-in-law, Sandy Little; nieces: Angela (Brian) Boersma and Jessica Little; nephews: Brad (Nicole) Little, Troy (Victoria) Torry and Trevor (Chelsie) Torry; 8 grand nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents and husband she was preceded in death by 2 brothers: Joseph and Ralph Little. Funeral services will be held 1:30 PM Thursday, May 19, 2011 at the Peterson Funeral Home in Cadillac with Reverend Emma Neff officiating. Burial will be at Maple Hill Cemetery in Cadillac.
